Erik Alendal

Erik is a Sustainability Advisor with a background in EU law and experience from both government authorities and international corporations. He has worked with sustainability policy and standards at the National Board of Trade, advanced ESG and CSRD projects at PwC (including a long-term engagement with FMV), and now specializes in CSRD and sustainability strategy at Ethos, where he is currently supporting Saab. His expertise lies in translating complex regulations into practical strategies, with a focus on ESG, CSRD, and EU law.

Erik began his career at the National Board of Trade, focusing on EU sustainability and trade policy. In this role, he represented Swedish industry in EU-level negotiations on new sustainability and technical standards, gaining early insight into how international frameworks are developed and applied, while honing his ability to turn complex regulations into clear strategies for stakeholders.

He then joined PwC Sweden, where he led ESG and CSRD projects for large corporate clients, with a particular focus on reporting and strategy. A significant part of his work was a long-term engagement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), which provided valuable sector-specific experience in defense and sustainability.

Today, Erik is a consultant at Ethos International, specializing in CSRD, Double Materiality Assessments, ESG strategy, and sustainability law. He advises organizations on EU requirements and leads projects in change management, due diligence, and sustainability governance. His current work with Saab combines legal expertise, consulting experience, and sector-specific knowledge to address complex sustainability challenges and create long-term value.
