Join one of Scandinavia’s largest and most established consultancies dedicated to sustainability. 
At Ethos, you’ll have the opportunity to make sustainability actionable through practical applications of sustainable finance frameworks and standards within large and listed entities, as well as financial institutions in the Nordics, Central Europe, the UK, and the United States. We are now recruiting for two different positions, Senior Sustainable Finance Advisor and Sustainability Advisor.

Senior Sustainable Finance Advisor

About the role 
Ethos is growing and is now recruiting a Senior Sustainable Finance Advisor to lead, support, and coordinate clients, advising them to become catalysts for the sustainable transition. The ideal candidate will provide expert advice in political economy, macroeconomics, and finance for sustainability both to clients and internally to team members. The role entails having specialist knowledge of the financial ecosystem, including the mindsets and development of financial markets, different investor types, lenders and regulators. Understanding and applying regulations such as the EU Taxonomy, the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the CorporateSustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the IFRS Sustainability Standards is an integral part of the job.  

Key duties and responsibilities
- Analyse client sustainability readiness paired with ambition level and regulatory and market trends to provide support in client decision-making.

- Identify and assess gaps and challenges that clients have today and create roadmaps for how they best can close gaps going forward, sometimes also supporting them in closing the gaps through the execution of actions on behalf of clients.

- Internal business development, analysing and developing Ethos service offerings within the field of sustainable finance.  

- Internally support the creation and dissemination of tools and structural capital to deliver our services more efficiently.

- Internally support and lead team members in forming, planning, and executing client projects as well as contribute to pitch meetings and proposals.

- Key account management of a handful of clients as well as identifying and together with the rest of the Ethos team, generating novel sales opportunities (no individual sales targets).

Required qualifications, competencies and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or a closely related field.

- Minimum five years of relevant work experience.

- Demonstrated knowledge of global trends in sustainable finance, including the EU Green Deal, Inflation Reduction Act, green taxonomies, EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan, and green and social bonds as well as impact investment.

- An in-depth understanding or professional experience in EU and international markets is a plus.

- Previous experience in consulting is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swedish, with a proven track record of producing high-quality documents and distilling key messages from complex data.

- Fluency in English and Swedish. 



Sustainability Advisor

About the role
Ethos is growing, and we are now recruiting a Sustainability Advisor with expertise within nvironmental sustainability to lead, support, and coordinate clients, advising them to become catalysts for the sustainable transition. The ideal candidate will provide expert advice in greenhouse gas accounting, climate transition plans and greenhouse gas reduction targets, while also having a deep understanding of the interplay between the business and sustainable practices.  The role entails being the environmental expert in the room, with specialist knowledge in e.g., emissions, climate change and ecosystems. Applying regulations and standards such as the GHG Protocol, CSRD/ESRS, TCFD and SBTi will be an integral part of the job.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Analysing client sustainability readiness paired with ambition level and regulatory and market trends to provide support in client decision-making.  

- Internal business development, analysing and developing Ethos service offerings within the field of environmental sustainability.

- Project management of a handful of medium-large client projects, as well as identifying and together with the rest of the Ethos team, generating novel sales opportunities.

- Internally support and lead team members in forming, planning, and executing client projects as well as contribute to pitch meetings and proposals.

Required qualifications, competencies and experience

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Economics, or a closely related field.

- Minimum two years of relevant work experience.

- Demonstrated knowledge of applying the GHG Protocol and sustainability reporting frameworks such as the GRI Standards or the ESRS.
- Previous experience in consulting is a plus.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for reaching data-driven insights  - Proven track record of producing high-quality documents and distilling key messages from complex data.

- Fluency in English and Swedish.
