  • In a time of accelerating change, places are no longer passive settings for economic activity – they are active platforms shaping how value is created and sustained. The Nordic–Baltic Edge, a book by Christer Asplund and Jörgen Eriksson to be published in September 2026, shows how the Nordic–Baltic region has translated sustainability, innovation, and trust into long-term competitiveness, treating trust as a form of infrastructure that enables coordination, reduces friction, and strengthens resilience. Drawing on practical examples – from clusters and capital markets to landmarks and leadership – the book offers a clear message for decision-makers: competitiveness today depends on aligning purpose, actors, and execution, turning sustainability from aspiration into advantage.

  • What if the real test of success is not how hard you can push, but how long you can sustain performance without eroding your health, clarity, and life?
In this breakout room led by Eirloom CEO Rob Lake, explore how human sustainability, longevity, and performance can converge, and why the people who thrive will be the ones who learn to build capacity through both biology and behavior.

  • Welcome to mingle in our office before we get started.

Short welcome talk by Ethos CEO: 3.15 pm

    1. Climate action + economic growth = possible?

In this session, John Hassler, Professor of Economics at the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University, will discuss the idea of a “third door”, a path where climate action, and economic growth can reinforce each other rather than stand in conflict. Moving beyond the usual trade-off narrative, this perspective highlights how innovation, smart policy, and investment can reduce emissions while supporting continued economic development. John will explore how new technologies, incentives, and fresh ways of thinking can accelerate this positive synergy, and what it will take to scale it.

    2. Managing and quantifying material risks
In this session, we will take you through the identification and implementation of sustainability risk into the ERM and financial budgeting. You’ll learn how to quantify and align sustainability to standard risk models to showcase the scenarios to hedge costs and plan investments.

    3. From audits to action with a risk-based approach
The era of "don’t ask, don’t tell" in global sourcing is over. With the CSDDD and the Forced Labor Regulation coming into force, companies are now legally responsible for human rights violations deep in their multi-tier supply chains. In this session, we will share to move beyond static audits to build long-term, resilient partnerships with suppliers and navigate the incurred risks.

    1. Protecting enterprise value with SBTi
In this session, you will get an introduction to the real costs behind SBTi commitments and show how robust risk analysis protects enterprise value as regulations tighten and financing conditions become stricter.
You will learn how to put a credible price on resilience and use risk analysis as a tool for strategic prioritization, not just external reporting.

    2. How to develop a credible climate transition plan
In this session, we explore how organizations design and implement credible climate transition plans that align with business strategy and evolving regulatory expectations. You will gain an understanding of what defines a robust transition plan, including target-setting, governance, financing, and operational levers.

    3. Key insights on EPBD
The EU energy performance in Buildings Directive will become Swedish law in May 2026. This session will take you through what EPBD requires from property owners and investors including the relevant timelines. You will leave with clear priorities for positioning your real estate portfolio without locking in unnecessary capital too early.

    1. Europe’s competitiveness: From policy to production

This session introduces Europe’s evolving industrial strategy and what it means for capital allocation, competitiveness, and industrial transformation. With a focus on the Clean Industrial Deal and the Industrial Accelerator Act, we explore the next phase of Europe’s industrial development. Central to the discussion will be the transition to clean, stable, and affordable energy, a prerequisite for industrial competitiveness and independence.

The discussion brings together leaders from across the industrial sector, including Niklas Magnusson, Head of Group Sustainability & Safety at Ovako and Patricia Kempff, Head of External relations at Industrikraft/Videberg Kraft.

    2. Climate efficiency as a business case
In this session, we will show how energy efficiency and emissions reduction translate into operating margins, asset value, and cost of capital.
You will learn how to build and communicate an internal business case for climate investments that stands up to scrutiny from boards, owners, and capital markets.

    3. From 2025 Reporting Launch to 2026 Readiness

With the 2025 reporting season behind us, many organizations are now turning their focus to what comes next.
